The gubernatorial candidate of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) in Kano Salihu Tanko Yakasai has declared that Nigerians are tired of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) as well as the opposition People Democratic Party (PDP), adding that the people are going to vote for individuals irrespective of the party they belong to.
He stated this on Wednesday while fielding questions from newsmen in Kano at the 2023 Dialogue Series organised by the Correspondents Chapel of the Nigerian Union of Journalists.
He further praised the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for its level of preparation towards the 2023 elections while also commending President Muhammadu Buhari for signing the Electoral Act to law.
“They public has expressed dissatisfaction with the way and manner the PDP and APC parties have ruled them. They are tired of the PDP and the APC.
“The youths make a very large part of the population in the state and I am not afraid of these political parties.
“The level of preparation by INEC in this election is very encouraging. If the electoral bill is duly implemented there is hope and I believe this will say a lot in the coming 2023.
“I must commend the president for signing to law the Electoral Bill and we have seen the effect in very recent elections such that a sitting Senate President can lose being elected” he said.
He finally described Kano as a radical state and money politics does not have a place in the state.
