June 12 which was recently set as Nigeria’s Democracy Day has is being regarded as a day the country witnessed a truly free and fair election after which the election was annulled back in 1993 which bought about riots and protests in various parts of the country.
In view of the ongoing trends as regards the State of the Nation in the country, citizens have gone to Twitter to organize a #June 12 protest to march against issues bedeviling the country in recent times. This is coming about 9 months after the #EndSARS protest which took a similar approach.
Omoyele Sowore, leader of the #RevolutionNow agenda took to Twitter to mobilize individuals to join the planned protest as he tweeted “Good morning oppressed citizens!

While some Nigerians expressed their disgust in the recent kidnap of over 200 students in Niger State, others decried the high cost of living, food, transportation amidst others which is said to have been orchestrated by the current regime.

Similarly, Jharmo tweeted “The Nigerian State has declared war against her citizens and we must rise in millions with every resistance available.
