During a nationwide broadcast on Tuesday in celebration of the 2024 Independence Day anniversary, the president acknowledged the hardships caused by increasing prices, especially the cost of food, but emphasized that Nigeria is not alone in dealing with these difficulties.
“The central concern of our people today is the high cost of living, especially food costs. This concern is shared by many around the globe as prices and the cost of living continue to rise worldwide,” Tinubu said.
Despite these global issues, President Tinubu reassured citizens of his administration’s efforts to address the situation. He pledged to implement measures aimed at alleviating the economic burden on Nigerians.
“My fellow Nigerians, be assured that we are implementing many measures to reduce the cost of living here at home,” he added.
Meanwhile, there are growing reports that Nigerian youths plan to stage nationwide protests against hunger and other pressing economic issues affecting the country.
