The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has predicted three days of cloudiness and sunshine (Thursday to Saturday) across the country, according to its weather outlook released in Abuja on Wednesday.

It said partly cloudy to sunny will occur over the Northern region during the morning hours.

According to it, there are prospects of isolated thunderstorms over parts of Taraba and southern Borno state later in the day.

“Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with intervals of sunshine should prevail over the North central states during the morning hours.

“However, there are prospects of isolated thunderstorms over parts of Kwara and the Federal Capital Territory during the afternoon and evening hours.

“Cloudy skies should prevail over the Inland and the coastal cities of the South with prospects of thunderstorms over Ogun, Ondo, Enugu, Ebonyi, Abia, Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa and Lagos state in the morning hours,” it said.

NiMet forecast isolated thunderstorms over Edo, Delta, Imo, Abia, Enugu, Ado Ekiti, Oyo, Osun, Rivers, Bayelsa, Akwa Ibom and Cross River State later in the day.

According to the agency, partly cloudy to sunny skies are anticipated over the Northern region on Friday with prospects of isolated thunderstorms over parts of Taraba state during the morning hours.

It further anticipated isolated thunderstorms over parts of Adamawa State later in the day.

NiMet predicted cloudy skies over the North central states during the morning hours with isolated thunderstorms over Nasarawa, Niger, Benue and the Federal Capital Territory in the afternoon and evening period.

NiMet envisaged the Inland and the Coastal cities of the South to be under cloudy skies during the morning hours.

It forecast isolated thunderstorms over parts of Delta, Edo, Ekiti, Imo, Ogun, Cross River, Akwa Ibom and Lagos states.

“For Saturday, partly cloudy to sunny skies are anticipated over the Northern region during the forecast period. Partly cloudy skies should prevail over the North central region during the forecast hours.

“The Inland and the Coastal cities of the South should be predominantly cloudy with chances of isolated thunderstorm over parts of Akwa Ibom, Rivers and Bayelsa states during the morning hours.

“Later in the day, there are chances of isolated thunderstorms over Parts of Edo, Delta, Ondo, Rivers and Lagos State during the afternoon and evening hours,” it said. (NAN)
