The vice president said the security agencies, the Police, and the Army had given the institute an assurance to support it during its forthcoming AGM and national conference holding May end.

Adeniyi, also the Chairman National Organising Committee of the conference, said all facilities such as the venue of the conference and accommodation were readily available for members.

He said that for the first time, the North-East region is hosting the AGM/Conference and in Bauchi State.

Adeniyi said that the reason for choosing Bauchi to host the conference was because of the peaceful nature of the state and committed members of the institute.

He said that NIPR was established in 1963 while the body attained the status of a Chartered Institute in June 1990 through Decree No. 16 (now an Act of the National Assembly) from which it derives the power and responsibility to register members.

He said the institute also had parameters of knowledge to be acquired to qualify to practice, regulate the practice and development of the Public Relations profession as well as monitor professional conduct through an established Code of Ethics, amongst others.

Malam Kabiru Garba, the Chairman of, Local Organising Committee said all arrangements had been concluded to host over 1000 members across the country come May 20 and May 21.

He said the conference would strengthen the bond between members of the institute as well as boost business activities in the state. (NAN)
