The National Orientation Agency (NOA) has assured Nigerians that a standardized version of the national anthem will be issued after consultation with stakeholders, following confusion over multiple versions circulating on social media.
This assurance was issued by the Director-General of the Agency, Malam Lanre Issa-Onilu through the agency’s Deputy Director of press, Mr Paul Odenyi on Tuesday in Abuja.

“Our COMOS (Community Orientation and Mobilization Officers) whom we ordered to learn the new national anthem have come up with feedback that many of our people are eager to learn and promote the new anthem. However, they are confused and wonder if the ones they find online are the correct version. They have asked questions about which of the stanzas is the national prayer,” said Malam Lanre Issa-Onilu, Director-General of the Agency.
Issa-Onilu assured Nigerians that a decision on which stanzas to adopt as the national prayer would be taken after the necessary approval procedure.
He advised government agencies seeking to play the anthem at their functions to revert to the Agency for the official copy of the new anthem.
