The Kano state command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has deployed 1,500 personnel in the state, ahead of the easter celebration in an effort to ensure a hitch-free celebration.

Recall, that the government declared Friday 7th and Monday 10th April as public holidays for the celebration of Easter.

Commandant Adamu Salihu, the Kano state NSCDC commandant in a press statement said the operatives have been deployed to strategic locations in the state for the smooth conduct of Easter festivities in Kano.

“The general public especially Christian faithful are assured of adequate security coverage to places of worship and recreational centres during and after the celebration. This is in addition to beefing up security and providing protection to all critical national assets and infrastructure.” He said.

Easter is a Christian holiday that celebrates the belief in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
