No fewer than 1,800 prospective corps members have been mobilised to Bauchi State for the 2022 Batch B, Stream 1 orientation exercise.

Alhaji Namadi Abubakar, the Bauchi State Coordinator, National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), said this on Thursday in Bauchi in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).

He said the orientation would be held from June 15 to July 5, 2022, at the state’s permanent orientation camp, Wailo in Ganjuwa Local Government Area of the state.

According to him, prospective corps members will only be allowed into the camp after being certified COVID-19 negative by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).

The state coordinator also said that anyone that tested positive would be referred to the NCDC isolation centre outside the orientation camp.

He also said that only 200 corps members would be registered per day, adding that registration would begin on June 17 while the swearing-in would hold on June 21, 2022.

“Registration date has been assigned to each prospective corps member to avoid overcrowding.

“Participants are advised to adhere strictly to the COVID-19 safety measures put in place by the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 and the NCDC,” he said.

He called on all the in-coming corps members to be punctual, diligent and comply with the camp’s dress code.

Abubakar warned that defaulters would be sanctioned in accordance with the NYSC by-laws.

“Violation of the NYSC dress code will not be tolerated,” he said.
