Brigadier General YD Ahmed, Director of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), has called for collective efforts in the search for missing Corps Member Yahaya Farouk.
During a visit to residents of Ikuru town in Andoni Local Government Area, Rivers State, the host community of the missing Corps Member, General Ahmed urged both the youth and elders of the community to assist security agencies in the ongoing search efforts.

He emphasized that his administration would continue to advocate for the safety and welfare of Corps Members at all times. “It is also the responsibility of residents of Corps Members’ host communities to provide security and welfare packages for Corps Members serving in their domain,” he said.
General Ahmed further appealed to the community, stating, “The essence of my coming is to appeal to assist us in getting the Corps Member who came for National Service from another State.”
While in Ikuru town, General Ahmed visited the scene of the incident where Corps Member Yahaya Farouk went missing while working at a Chinese Mining Company within the community.
In response to the Director General’s appeal, the Youth President, Mr. Etete Jerb Anthony, and the Ward Secretary, Mr. Paul Friday, assured that the community had made significant efforts in searching for the missing Corps Member.
They promised that the search and rescue efforts would continue until he is found.
