Signed by the Director of Planning, Research, and Statistics, Ahmed Ikaka, on behalf of the Director General of the NYSC, the circular confirms that the orientation course will be conducted simultaneously across all 36 states of the federation, including the Federal Capital Territory. This synchronized approach underscores the scale of the operation, which has become a cornerstone in the transition of Nigerian graduates into the broader workforce.
The orientation course is slated to commence on Wednesday, August 28, 2024. According to the circular, the registration process for this batch will span three days, beginning on August 28 and concluding at the stroke of midnight on Friday, August 30, 2024. The deadline is critical, as it ensures all corps members are accounted for and ready to participate in the program’s rigorous activities.
A highlight of the NYSC Batch B Stream II orientation course is the swearing-in ceremony, scheduled for Friday, August 30, 2024. This event marks the official start of the service year for the new corps members and is often characterized by a sense of pride and patriotism as the participants take their oaths of allegiance.
Following the swearing-in, the corps members will engage in a series of activities designed to prepare them for the challenges and opportunities of their service year. These activities range from paramilitary drills to leadership training, cultural exchanges, and lectures on national integration and development. The goal is to equip the participants with the skills and mindset necessary to contribute meaningfully to the communities where they will serve.
The orientation course will culminate in a closing ceremony on Tuesday, September 17, 2024. This event not only marks the end of the rigorous training period but also signals the beginning of the corps members’ deployment to their respective places of primary assignment.
