Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri on Saturday received over 7000 defectors from the All Progressives Congress (APC), Social Democratic Party (SDP), Alliance for Democratic Change (ADC) into the Peoples Democratic Party.

The decampees dumped their political parties to join the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Jada Local Government Area of the state.

They comprise over 3687 members from SDP and 2296 from APC.

While addressing the fervent supporters Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri assured the people that he will not take their support for granted especially their contributions in 2019 which gave birth to his victory as Governor and promised to continue working towards the human and infrastructural development of the people of the area.

The Governor disclosed that in the first quarter of 2022 he will upgrade the Jada Comprehensive Secondary School into a Science-Based Institution among other various and diverse projects.

He reiterated that he will not relent in magnifying his efforts in the remaining period of his Administration.

He revealed that the developmental projects recorded so far in the State by his Administration will continue to tempt supporters from other political parties into PDP, and called on the members of other opposition parties in the State to “come and join hands with his Government to build Adamawa State of our dream.

“This is the responsibility of all and sundry,” Fintiri said.

The Governor expressed his enchantment that Adamawa State still has people who have its interest in mind, and he reminded all that “Adamawa belongs to all we and no outsider will come to salvage the people but saying the PDP is an open party for all to join for the overall benefits of the State.”

Fintiri highlighted  some of his achievements in education, security, health, women and youths empowerment, infrastructural development, and civil servant’s welfare despite the economic problems in the State and the Country at large and he’ll not relax in providing purposeful leadership to the good people of Adamawa.

He pledged to continue delivering dividends of democracy that will disintegrate all opposition in the state.

Receiving the decampees, the State PDP Chairman Barr Abubakar Tahir Shehu applauded the giant strides recorded by the present administration, assuring all the defectors of equal opportunity in the party.

He charged them to ensure they register with INEC without which they cannot exercise their franchise, their civic right.

He promised to carry all the returnees along in line with party activities.

Senator Representing Southern Senatorial Zone Binos Dauda Yaroe and Member Representing Jada Mbulo in the State assembly Hammantukur Yettusuri charged PDP members in the area not to relent in working for the party to ensure its complete success at the polls come 2023, pledging more developments under the PDP.

Speaking at the occasion, the Commissioner for Works and Energy Development, Adamu Atiku thanked the Governor for selecting him out of many to serve under his administration, which enable him to deploy his expertise and experiences.

Also, the Commissioner Youth and Sports, Aloysius Babadoke revealed that the area has for decades yearned for development which is now recorded under the Fintiri led administration reiterating their unalloyed loyalty.

The Majority Leader of the Adamawa State House of Assembly, Hamman Tukur Yetisuri assured the Governor that the people in the Area would deliver the Party PDP comes 2023.

Addressing the people Hon. Mohammed Inuwa Basi revealed that Adamawa citizens had never made mistakes or regretted voting for the Governor during the last elections, and pleaded with the people never to vote incompetent party or candidate in 2023 general elections.

The Jada Local Government Council PDP Chairman, Alh. Ahmadu Babalele lauded Governor Fintiri for the infrastructure project and vowed to rally round him.

Speaking on behalf of the defectors, Mallam Mahmud, Umar U.J., and Alhaji Musa Hammawa described the governor as the detribalized leader with a great passion for development in Adamawa State.

The decampees said their massive defection was a result of Governor Fintiri’s developmental efforts in Jada Local Government and the State at large and pledged to be loyal to the party.

They also promised their unflinching support to Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri and former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.
