The Oyo state government has strongly denied reports which indicated that some students were turned to yams by ritualist in the state.
The government said findings from the school management showed that none of the school students was reported missing.
“The report that two students of Bashorun High School, Ibadan, were recently turned to tubers of yam by a suspected ritualist is a lie” the state government has stated.

According to the Oyo state commissioner for Education, Abiodun Abdulramah, who visited the school on a fact-finding mission said findings from the school management showed that none of the school students was reported missing.
The News Agency of Nigeria reported that the social media were awashed with the news of how a suspected ritualist (names withheld) turned two students of the school to tubers of yam with unused pampers.
It was reported that the suspect was caught by a local security guard around Bode Wasinmi-Bashorun axis, at a location closed to the school.
This, however, created fear in the minds of residents, especially the parents and guardians, whose children and wards attend the school. The commissioner, however, called for calm. He assured them that the security operatives would dig deeper into the incident to unravel details of what really happened. (Legit)
