A committee raised by the Kano state government to probe alleged misappropriation of funds and poor quality of education at Kano Capital School has submitted its report.

Daily News 24 reports that the 11-member panel was set up in March 2024 by the state’s Commissioner of Education, Hon. Umar Haruna Doguwa to investigate complaints of mismanagement by the schools staff members.

The committee was led by the ministry’s permanent secretary Hajiya Kubra Imam.

The commissioner had then mandate the committee to among others, review the financial records, budgets, and expenditures of the school for the past two years.

Other terms of reference include analyzing teacher recruitment and salary payment procedures to identify inefficiency and conduct a thorough audit of the schoolโ€™s financial records.

Receiving the panel’s report on Friday in his office, Mr Doguwa promised to review the committee’s recommendation in order to take action.
