PDP discussion Group called on the National Working Committee to consider the Northern part of Nigeria in distributing National Offices available in the party.
Coordinator of PDP Discussion Group Ambassador Sulaiman Gidado stated the decision of the forum during a News Conference in Kano.
Sulaiman Gidado said that there is a need for the geopolitical zones and regions to decide on the positions and how to be share among them.

“The North-West Zone which have the highest voter population and voter concentration was thrown into confusion when the decision of the National Convention Zoning Committee was made public as many political analyst view it as a systematic way of killing the aspiration of Northern candidates.
“While the stir caused was still subsisting, the NWC put all suspicions to rest by the leaving
the ticket open to all person’s from all part of the country.
“Now that every region is left to decide on how the positions given to it should be shared, it is
pertinent to ones again reemphasize the need for the PDP stakeholders from the North to consider given the Party Chairmanship position to the North -Central or the North-East in order to give aspirants from the North – West enough breathing space and maximize the chances of our party.
”It is in the tradition and practice of the PDP over the years to share Party and Political positions across the regional divide of the Nation for fairness, justice and National appeal, that is why in Nigeria of today, PDP is recognized a s the only Party with National outlook, coverage, reach and network, so it is the expectation of all stakeholders and party faithfuls alike that any Geopolitical zone that gets the Party Chairmanship position should not at the same time go carry every body along while giving every part of the country a deserving sense of “If you look at the situation of our country, the need for us to strategize to occupy some National positions during the General election, Governor’s seat and other advantageous places of National interest.” He said.
Ambassador Gidado added that this is the time they need maximum support and cooperation from the members of the party in climbing the ladder of success.
“Our appeal and that of many like minds is that the chairmanship position should be zone to the other two geopolitical zones so as to enable the Northwest have a good chance of fielding a candidate who can tag into the numerical advantage of the North, mobilize its voters commitment and support which we so believe that it will in no great measure helps in the quest of propelling the PDP back to the villa so as to serve Nigerians from further damages and hardship inflicted by APC led government that have not only compromised the nations security but have also went ahead to destroy the nation’s economic sending back the middle class population of the economic down to penury and poverty”, he said.
