Paul Okoye of Psquare has sparked rumours over his new lover, and Daily News24 brings his biography.Â
Paul Okoye, better known as Rudeboy, is a Nigerian singer who was born on November 18, 1981. In the 2000s, he rose to prominence as a member of the P-Square duo with his identical twin brother Peter Okoye.
He attended St. Murrumba Secondary School in Jos, Nigeria, and then went on to study Business Administration at the University of Abuja. While at university, he became involved with a woman named Anita Isama, whom he later married and with whom he has three children.
Music careerÂ
Paul Okoye, also known as Rudeboy, has done well in the music industry alongside his twin brother. They began as an acapella group, inspired by Michael Jackson’s dancing moves, which they improved and eventually got bookings for their shows in Jos, Nigeria.
Psquare’s debut album, ‘Last Nite,’ was sponsored by a tobacco-producing company and earned them a KORA Award nomination; they went on to release an additional album, ‘Get Squared,’ in 2005 under the Squared Records label, which included the song ‘Busy Body.’ This song was a huge hit both in and out of the country, and it gained a lot of popularity.
Exactly two years later, they released a new smashing album titled ‘Game Over,’ which was their best-selling album with approximately 8 million copies sold. This album featured big-name American musicians like Akon in “Chop My Money,” Rick Ross in “Onyinye,” and T.I in “Ejeajo.” Notably, they released other albums such as ‘Danger’ in 2009, ‘The Invasion’ in 2011, and ‘Double Trouble’ in 2014. Nonetheless, since splitting from his brother, Peter Okoye, he has consistently delivered intriguing singles to his star.
Solo careerÂ
Following the dissolution of P-Square in 2017, both members pursued separate musical careers. Rudeboy debuted as a solo artist in 2017 with the singles ‘Fire Fire’ and ‘Nkenji Keke.’ In 2019, his song “Reason With Me” received the most views on YouTube in Africa. He is the founder and CEO of Fire Department Inc, a record label he founded in 2019. Rudykillus, his debut studio album, was released in 2021.
Personal lifeÂ
Paul married Anita (nee Isama) in 2014, and the couple now has three children. Andre, Nadia, and Nathan are the names of the children.
Awards and nominationsÂ
During his time with Squared Records, Paul Okoye or Rude Boy received numerous awards and nominations, including The Headies, City Magazine 9th Awards Show, Nigeria Music Awards, Channel O Music Video Awards, KORA Awards, BET Awards, Ghana Music Awards, MTV Europe Music Awards, and Soul Train Music Awards. Nonetheless, as a solo artist, he has yet to win any awards.
NetworthÂ
Before the breakup of the group, Paul Okoye (Rude Boy) and his brother Peter Okoye (Mr. P) were both worth 150 million dollars, making them the richest Nigerian artistes. However, after splitting their assets and properties as a solo artist, Paul Okoye (Rude Boy) is now worth 10 million dollars and is still one of the richest Nigerian musicians. His vehicles include a Mercedes Benz, a Jeep Wrangler, a BMW X6, and a Range Rover. He also has a palace in Atlanta, Georgia, the United States that is similar to that of his twin brother, as well as some additional real estate investments in Nigeria.
