The National Working Committee (NWC) of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), on behalf of the National Executive Committee (NEC), has approved the timetable for the 2025 zonal congresses.
The congresses will see the election of new Zonal Working Committees (ZWCs) and National Ex-officio members across five geopolitical zones.

This announcement was made by the PDP National Publicity Secretary, Hon. Debo Ologunagba, in Abuja on Monday. According to Ologunagba, the timetable was finalized during the NWC’s 592nd meeting, ahead of the expiration of the current Zonal Executives’ tenures in the South-South, South-East, South-West, North-Central, and North-East regions.
The schedule of activities begins with the sale of forms for all ZWC positions and National Ex-officio roles, which will run from Monday, November 18, 2024, to Wednesday, December 18, 2024.
Aspiring candidates are expected to submit their completed forms by Friday, January 17, 2025. Screening of aspirants will take place on Saturday, January 25, 2025, followed by an appeal process on Saturday, February 1, 2025.
The publication of cleared aspirants and delegate lists is set for February 12 and 13, 2025, respectively. The congress dates are scheduled as follows:
North-East, South-East, and South-South zonal congresses: Saturday, February 22, 2025.
Appeals on zonal congresses: Tuesday, February 25, 2025.
North-Central and South-West zonal congresses: Saturday, March 22, 2025.
Appeals on zonal congresses: Wednesday, March 26, 2025.
Ologunagba also advised aspirants to liaise with the Directorate of Organization and Mobilization or the Directorate of Finance at the National Secretariat for further details on fees and other inquiries.
He concluded by urging PDP leaders, stakeholders, and members to “remain united and work toward the progress of the party.”
