The presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the next year’s general elections, Peter Obi, has arrived at New York, United States.
Obi was welcomed by cheerful supporters, who trooped out in mass to receive him and his entourage at the John F. Kennedy International Airport.
“I just arrived John F. Kennedy International Airport, New York, USA to a rousing and heartwarming welcome from Nigerians,” Obi said in a post o his verified social media pages late on Saturday.
The former Anambra State governor, who embarked on the US trip to mobilise more support for his presidential ambition, had earlier visited Washington D.C and Atlanta, where he had townhall meetings with Nigerians in Diaspora.
Former Anambra State People’s Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate, Valentine Ozigbo, who is part of Obi’s entourage, expressed delight over the massive support the presidential candidate has received outside the shores of the country.
“We are making great progress. Obidient Movement is spreading fast. Thanks to everyone,” Ozigbo, who recently dumped PDP for Labour Party, said.
