The journalist was on his way home after closing from work around 10pm when the phone snatchers on a motorcycle attacked him around Club Road in the metropolitan area of the state.

According to sources close to the victim, they attempted to stab him on his stomach but he used his hand to block them, and that they stabbed him on his arm, Daily Trust reports.

“He started shouting for help and that attracted people’s attention to the scene, but the thugs run away on their motorcycle. They snatched his phone, and they attempted to kill him,” he said.

The victim is receiving treatment in hospital.

It was gathered that the thugs took advantage of the supplementary polls to attack people and snatch phones, as similar incidences were reported from other parts of the state.

Similarly, the Kano State Police Command recently announced the suspension of Tashe traditional performance as thugs were disguising under it to snatch phones and attack residents.
