The Police in Jigawa have arrested two suspected armed robbers in Maigatari Local Government Area of the state.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Jigawa Police Command, ASP Lawan Shiisu, confirmed the arrest to newsmen in Dutse on Saturday.

Shiisu said the suspects were arrested after they allegedly attacked and beat one Sale Aliyu with sticks and snatched his motorcycle on June 23.

He said that Aliyu had reported to the police that the suspects attacked him at about 2:20 p.m., while he and two others were coming from Mele village, Gumel LGA to Kukayasku on a Boxer motorcycle, with registration number KJ 912 QL.

Shiisu explained that upon receipt of the complaint, a patrol team rushed to the scene and apprehended the suspects.

The PPRO added that the victim was taken to Gumel General Hospital for medical attention.

According to him, investigation into the case was ongoing, after which the suspects would be charged to court.
