The Police Command in Niger has arrested two suspects for alleged vandalism and stealing of transformer cables in Nasko village of Magama Local Government Area of the state.

The command’s spokesman, SP Wasiu Abiodun, disclosed this in a statement on Monday in Minna.

He said that on April 12, Police operatives attached to Nasko Division, arrested one Jibrin Dahiru, 26, of Mamba village and Buhari Umar, 22, in Nasko community of Magama in connection with the alleged crime.

Abiodun said that both suspects had confessed to being members of a syndicate involved in the vandalism and stealing of transformer cables at different times in Nasko, Salka, Gwagwade, Tunga-Kade and Mamba village of Magama LGA.

He said the suspects had given useful information about their nefarious activities, saying detectives were on the heels of other fleeing gang members..

According to the command’s spokesman, the suspects have been transferred to State Criminal Intelligence Department (SCID) of the command for further investigation.
