The Kano State Police Command has launched an investigation into allegations of criminal assault, threat to life, and unlawful imprisonment of an estate agent, Hussaini Wali, and a real estate developer, Khalid Kabara by one Hajiya Safiya Faruk Said.
Mrs Faruk is also allegedly accused of harassing and beating police officers who tried to free Kabara and Wali after locking them inside her residence in Magaji Rumfa, Kano, on Tuesday.
Mrs Faruk paid Kabara N200 million in three installments for the house she bought from him in December 2019, SAHELIAN TIMES reports.

In an interview with this reporter, Kabara stated that the women frequently demanded him to fix various things “that were initially not part of the deal.”
“She originally requested that I install N5 million worth of air conditioners in the said residence. After I did, she kept demanding for other things till she pushed me up the wall,” he stated.
He added that he had to block her number “for peace to reign.”
Kabara asserted that she kept sending threats and abusive messages to him using different phone numbers, which were shown to this reporter.
Safiya on Tuesday called up Wali, who linked her up with Kabara, and locked him in her residence, threatening that she would not release him until he produces Kabara.
“When I was left with no option, I called up Khalid to come and to meet me at Safiyya’s residence,” Wali said.
When Kabara arrived, Safiya allegedly teamed up with her son and his sisters to attack him and instructed her guards to close the gate.
Around 3:00 pm, the estate developer called the police in distress, and the investigating police officer said that she refused to open the gate even after they introduced themselves as officers.
The IPO stated, “We had to return to the station and obtain a search warrant in order to enter the residence by jumping the fence.
Video footage showed Safiya and her children attacking the police officers sent to rescue the duo of Kabara and Wali.
The police finally succeeded in arresting her son, Amir Said, and her sister identified just as Ummi, and the residence’s security man.
Safiya admitted to smashing the windscreen of Kabara’s car, and assaulting a police officer with a stone during interrogation at the office of the commissioner of police, CP Sama’ila Dikko.
CP Dikko revealed that a call he received from someone “in Abuja” on Tuesday was what prompted him to order the briefing and release of the suspect.
He, however, later ordered the case be transferred to Special Investigation Branch (SIB) of the command headquarters “for a proper and fair investigation.”
In an interview with this reporter, the suspect’s attorney stated that he would reserve comment until he had a good understanding of the circumstances.
SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, the spokesperson for the State Police Command, stated that an investigation has been opened.
