In another development, the police in Benue State on Thursday said operatives arrested one Ebube Igwe Jude, who escaped from Kuje Custodial Centre following the recent jail-break.

The spokesperson for the command, SP Catherine Anene, in a statement noted that detectives deployed to investigate the case arrested him (fugitive) along George Akume Way, Wurukum in Makurdi.

“On 19/7/2022, at about 3pm, information was received about one Ebube Igwe Jude, a fugitive who had arrived in Makurdi as a result of Kuje jail break.

“During investigation, he confessed to have escaped from Kuje correctional centre during the jail break. He stated further that he is an awaiting trial inmate, standing trial in a case of Culpable Homicide involving his girlfriend,” Anene stated.
