According to the BBC, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II is under medical monitoring at Balmoral after physicians grew worried about her health.
“Following further evaluation this morning, the Queen’s doctors are concerned for Her Majesty’s health and have recommended she remain under medical supervision,” the Palace said in a statement this morning.
“The Queen is still at home and at Balmoral.”
According to reports, the news comes after the Queen, 96, walked out of a virtual Privy Council meeting on Wednesday when physicians advised her to rest.
The UK Prime Minister, Liz Truss, said the news will affect the “whole nation.”
“My sympathies – and the thoughts of people across our United Kingdom – are with Her Majesty The Queen and her family at this time,” she continued.
Remember that Queen Elizabeth installed Ms Truss as Prime Minister at Balmoral on Tuesday, rather than in London.
