The newly established airline company, Rano Air, has raised an alarm over what it described as fake Instagram account in circulation.
In a statement by the management of the company on Saturday, the company said the IG account, bearing “aarano_airline” with Rano Air logo, pictures and posts has about 4,000 followers.
The management also said the account, opened with a phone number; +22793037052 is being used to fleece unsuspecting travelers by asking them to book for tickets.
“The general public should disregard such and desist from booking or making outright payment for ticket(s) or other services, as Rano Air Limited is yet to commence its operation.
“The general public will however be notified upon commencement of operation,” the management said in the statement.

Recall, Nigerian startup airline, Rano Air has reportedly secured four EMB-145LRs to start operations in 2022.
According to Rano Air’s social media posts, the company had in January appeared to have restarted its drive for an Air Transport License (ATL) with the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA).
It published part of an NCAA letter to Rano Air dated January 17, 2022, and said that “progress, step-by-step it shall come to fruition.”
Rano Air had initially applied to the NCAA for an ATL in mid-2020 to operate scheduled and non-scheduled passenger and cargo services within and outside Nigeria.
On Thursday, the special assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on New Media and Digital Communication, Bashir Ahmad, announced on his Twitter page that the new airline company is about to kick-start operations in the country.
He wrote, “Congratulations to a new Kano-based commercial airline, the @RanoAir which is about to formally commence operations in the country.”
Rano Air is owned by the Kano-born business mogul and oil magnate, Alhaji Auwalu Abdullahi Rano, the Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of A.A. Rano Group.
