Renowned Nollywood actor, Amaechi Muonagor, passed away at the age of 62 following a long battle with illness.
On Sunday, social commentator Morris Monye shared this information on his X handle.
Reports indicate that Muonagor experienced kidney failure and required dialysis treatment.

His untimely passing has shocked many, especially in light of a recent video where he appealed for financial assistance to undergo a kidney transplant.
Monye expressed profound sadness upon learning about the passing of Amaechi Muonagor.
“He was a talented Nollywood actor whose presence on our screens was truly masterful.
“We watched with concern as he battled health issues, offering whatever support we could to help him seek treatment in India.
“This tragic loss highlights the need for better healthcare in our country.”
According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Muonagor, who hails from Idemili in Anambra, was born on August 20, 1962.
He had a successful career in the entertainment industry. In 2016, he received a nomination for Best Actor in a comedy at the AMVCA 2017.
In 1989, following his youth service, Muonagor began his career at the News Agency of Nigeria. After a few years, he decided to pursue a career in acting and landed his first role in a Nigerian movie called Taboo 1, where he played the character Akunatakasi.
