The family of Nigerian Senator, Kabiru Gaya, has petitioned the Nigerian Police in their quest for justice after their 34-year-old son died under questionable circumstances.

The family, while briefing newsmen in Abuja, suspect that he was murdered, and are unhappy the key suspect continues to walk free.

On 13th September 2022, the remains of Sadiq Gaya was found in Abuja where he supposedly drowned.

Mr Sadiq, was a legal practitioner and staff of the Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria.

Addressing newsmen in Abuja the Gaya family says Sadiq Gaya, a lawyer, was on 13 September found unresponsive in the pool of an Abuja hotel where he supposedly drowned

But a preliminary report from the National Hospital indicates that drowning was not the cause of death.

Lawyer to the Gaya’s family noted that although 6 people had previously been arrested by the FCT police command in connection to Sadiq’s death, they were released while awaiting arraignment.

Although the suspect where later Arraigned, the arraignment was not in connection to the death of Mr Sadiq, and they werereleased on bail as the crime in which they where arraigned for where bailable.

The family is now seeking justice for their son through prosecution of the perpetrators of the crime and also protection of witnesses whose life may be in danger.

Step mother of the deceased, Halima Gaya says there is one stand out suspect even though six people had previously been arrested and released.

The deceased, from Kano State, is survived by his wife and two children, one of whom is three years old and the other is nine months old.
