Kano state PRP gubernatorial candidate, Hon. Salihu Tanko Yakasai has attended a high level event, organized by a member of the UK Parliament and shadow minister MP Catherine West representing Hornsey and Wood Green, held in London, United Kingdom.

Hon. Salihu Tanko Yakasai attended the event alongside deputy Mayor of London Joanne McCartney, member of UK Parliament representing Brent Central Dawn Butler, and Council leader of Haringey Peray Ahmet, who is one of the labour party’s leading council leaders in London, among others.

This was contained in a statement signed by the Spokesperson of the PRP Governorship candidate, Suhaib Auwal Gwagwarwa, and made available to newsmen.

According to the statement, Kano state PRP gubernatorial candidate, Hon. Salihu Tanko Yakasai speaks extensively on his political ideologies, manifesto and how he intends to transform Kano if he wins the Kano state governorship election in 2023.

Adding that “Kano is one of the most populated states in Africa, a business oriented city without a well-structured development master-plan, the state is left behind in so many developmental aspects, that’s why I came up with this manifesto. I’m optimistic that this manifesto will change the history of Kano state and Nigeria.”

“I’m glad to let you know that, I’m the only gubernatorial candidate that have a functional campaign website in Kano, and first candidate to unveil his manifesto, and recently, I appointed my campaign council members, over 90 percent of the members as well as the candidates in our party the PRP are young people, which is unusual in Nigerian politics”

He also expressed his readiness to establish a sister-city bilateral relationship between Kano state and London to partner on green energy which is one of the key issues campioned by the Mayor of London Mr Sadiq Khan, and other developmental aspects that Kano can benefit from London.

Hon. Salihu Tanko Yakasai also had an opportunity to interact with other British Labour Party leaders and members in London, including a Northern Nigerian living in London, Ahmed Mohammed who recently contested for the position of Councillor, the first Nigerian from the North to do so.
