The Kano State Hisbah Board, in collaboration with the Refuse Management and Sanitation Board (REMASAB), has launched a two-day special sanitation exercise to ensure hygienic conditions in all the Eid grounds across the state.
Malam Lawan Ibrahim, Public Relations Officer of the Hisbah board, disclosed this in a statement, on Monday, in Kano.
According to him, the Commander General of the Board, Dr Harun Ibn-Sina made the assertion at the Kofar Mata Eid ground, where the sanitation exercise took place.
“The exercise is part of the board’s ongoing preparations for the forthcoming Eid-el-Fitr festival in the state.
The commander general directed all Hisbah commands in the 44 local areas of the state to immediately embark on a similar exercise in collaboration with other NGOs within their domains.
Earlier, the REMASAB Director-General, Dr Aliyu Kibiya said the exercise would last for two days as REMASAB remained ready to evacuate any refuse collected during the sanitation.
He urged individuals and voluntary organizations in the state to actively take part in the exercise Sallah, assuring that any refuse collected would be immediately evacuated by REMASAB.
Kibiya commended the people of the state for their support and cooperation. (NAN)
