Senator Chimaroke Nnamani, the federal lawmaker representing the Enugu East Senatorial District, has appeared in campaign councils of two different political parties ahead of the 2023 presidential elections.
The ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, had included the former Enugu State Governor on its presidential campaign list to mobilize voters for its South-East presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.
The lawmaker was elected on the platform of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and is ranked 350 on the APC Presidential Campaign Council, PCC, list, which was recently released.
The news sparked reactions from party stakeholders, who concluded that including the former governor was a mistake.
However, in a statement issued on Monday in Abuja, the council’s Director of Media and Publicity, Bayo Onanuga, stated that Chimaroke’s inclusion in the 422-man council was intentional.
The Federal lawmaker has also maintained his support for APC Presidential candidate Ahmed Bola Tinubu.
DAILY POST, on the other hand, noted that the lawmaker was also named to the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) 600-member campaign council.
Senator Nnamani was ranked 69th on the PDP presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar’s campaign council, which was launched on Wednesday in Abuja.
Senator Nnamani’s inclusion in the campaign councils of the two major parties may be linked to the lawmaker’s influence in Enugu State.
