His secondary education took him to Comprehensive Secondary School Mubi in Adamawa State from 1973 to 1978, where he earned his Secondary School Certificate and WASC. Ndume’s leadership qualities shone early as he was appointed Junior House Captain and later promoted to House Captain in his final year.
