An unexpected discovery in a plate of food caused chaos at the popular Alaba International Market in Lagos on Friday.
A woman, Ebere, found a piece of meat resembling a male child’s private part in her soup, bought from a local food vendor at the market.
The bizarre find drew a crowd of traders and customers, all eager to witness the unusual ingredient.
An eyewitness stated, “We all took turns to examine it. It didn’t look like that of a goat or a dog.”
While the vendor denied any wrongdoing, stating that she purchased the meat from her regular supplier in the market, the incident incited intense reactions, with some customers even vomiting in distress.
Market leaders intervened to manage the situation and vowed to investigate the matter thoroughly.
Ezeani Theophilus, the Public Relations Officer for Alaba International Market, confirmed the incident and informed that an investigation was underway.”We don’t want to escalate the issue so that the meat seller won’t find out and flee from the market,” Theophilus explained.
As of now, the status of the food vendor and potential police involvement remains unclear.
Police officials mentioned they had not received a report but assured that a thorough investigation would take place once one is filed.
If appointed, El-Rufai’s experience and track record are expected to play a crucial role in shaping and executing the administration’s energy policy.
