Popular American rapper and actor, Snoop Dogg has asked reigning Nigerian artiste, Tems, to feature him in his next song.

In a recent viral video, Snoop Dogg urged the “Free mind” singer to run a feature with him, saying that his family had been listening to her songs.

“So Tems, when we gonna make a record, you know I’m a fan. I had to get that out the way now let’s get to the s. Let’s make a hit fu**king record. Girl, you be having my whole family dancing to your sh*t. I need one with you, and you can post that. Happy new year D.O. Double J,” the rapper said.

Snoop Dogg is one of the most prominent African American artistes in the United States.

His fame dates back to 1992 when he featured on Dr. Dre’s debut solo single, “Deep Cover”, and then on Dre’s debut solo album, The Chronic.

The rapper has since sold over 23 million albums in the US and 35 million albums worldwide.

Meanwhile, Tems has been gaining worldwide recognition since she came into prominence in 2020 after she was featured on Wizkid’s 2020 single “Essence,” which reached the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100 after the release of a remixed version with an additional feature from Justin Bieber and earned her a Grammy Award nomination.

That same year, she was featured on Drake’s “certified lover boy”, on a song titled “Fountains.”.

Tems is currently nominated in three sections for the upcoming 65th Grammy awards, two selections for her feature in American rapper Future’s “Wait for You” and Beyonce’s Renaissance album.
