Southampton have submitted their squad list to the Premier League following the closure of the summer transfer window.
For the first part of the 2024-2025 Premier League season, Saints manager Russell Martin can call upon ten players eligible to represent the Nigerian national teams.
Notably, Super Eagles attacker Paul Onuachu has been unexpectedly included on the 25-man list despite failing to secure a move to a European club before the transfer window closed.

The FC Ebedei product drew significant interest from Turkish Super Lig side Trabzonspor, but a move fell through as Southampton valued the towering forward at fifteen million euros.
Onuachu has not featured for Southampton since playing against Gillingham FC in the second round of the Carabao Cup in August 2023, amid ongoing speculation about his future at St Mary’s Stadium.
Nigeria international Joe Aribo is among the seventeen homegrown players in Southampton’s 25-man Premier League squad. The versatile midfielder appears to be an integral part of Southampton’s plans, having started all three games of the new Premier League season.
Russell Martin has also added eight players eligible to represent Nigeria internationally to the Southampton squad. Derrick Abu, Romeo Akachukwu, Princewill Ehibhatiomhan, Khiani Ofuyaekpone-Shombe, Olasubomi Okunola-Matthews, Adetokunbo Oyekunle, Lesley Ugochukwu, and Leo Umeh have been included as U21 players (contract and scholars).
Aribo and Ugochukwu have been named in the matchday squad for the lunchtime kickoff against Manchester United.
