A storey building has collapsed at Unguwar Gabas, Hotoro in Kano, claiming two lives, injuring three persons.
Daily News 24 reports that about sixty Almajirai occupy the uncompleted building before it collapses.
In an interview with Mallam Suleiman Abubakar, a teacher who head the Almajiri school eulogises souls of his students saying the incident was from the Almighty.

The building was erected in four months – Suleiman
Malam Suleiman Abubakar narrated that the incident occurred abruptly.
“After i have performed ablution around 3:08, I went back to my room to pick up my rosary, in all innocence I heard a sound like bomb blast.
“I got frightened. Then I realize it was the builing beside me that collapsed.
“I then found the five of my students were caught up inside sleeping, three of them sustained bruises while the other two passed away on our way to the hospital”, he said.
Malam Suleiman added that “the building was completed in about four months. We are not sure if any authority approved the construction of the building.”
Eye witness narrates
Shafiu Muhammed a student of Malam Abubakar narrated that “we were sleeping in the night around 3 am, we heard a devastating sound, as we came out we found the storey building behind our Islamiya has collapsed.
“Five of my colleagues were trapped inside the building, three survived while two lost their lives, which are Aliyu, 27 year old and Abdulganiyu a 23-year-old”.
Why the building collapse? – Sources reveal
While finding the location of the incident Daily News 24 Reporter engaged in a chit-chat with some residents who revealed that the storey building was completed within 3 weeks debunking the earlier claim of the school teacher.
“Why won’t the building disintegrate when the storey building was corruptly built, It is unimaginable that a storey building pillar contains 4 tiny pieces of rods” They said.
Our properties are safe – neighborhoods
Neighbours of the collapsed building confirmed the incident but noted their properties are safe “It is a sad happening, two lives were lost, but our properties are safe”. One of the neighbours said.
