Sports Writers Association of Nigeria, SWAN Kano state chapter Thursday held a one day capacity building programme for media practitioners, judicial officers and health workers, on the know how on cyber crimes, attacks and espionage.
Our correspondent reports that the training held at Kano NUJ press centre had the participants been tutored on the elements of cyber crimes , detection and preventive methods.

The programme trainer, Mudasir Dankaka urged citizens to always remain vigilant and shun greed to avoid falling victim of the activities of cyber criminals. He said “ to avoid becoming a victim of cyber criminals, innocent Nigerians must learn to jealously guard their private information.”
The vice president Sports writer association of Nigeria, SWAN North West zone, Lurwanu Idris Malikawa described the training as an eye opener, he further appealed to Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ Kano council to conduct similar training exercise for a vast number of its members to expose working journalists to what constitutes cyber crimes and the preventive approach at this critical times, when the profession has gone digital..
Among participants at the training were the chairman SWAN Kano chapter, Zahradeen Saleh, chairman Nigeria Nutrition Society, Mallam Ibrahim, spokesman Kano Judiciary, Baba Jibo, seasoned journalists drawn from the print and broadcast industry, bloggers and SWAN members.
