Waziri Tambuwal, the Governor of Sokoto State, has denied ever resigning from his position as Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Governors Forum.

Tambuwal was a PDP presidential candidate before withdrawing in favor of Atiku Abubakar during the party’s primary.

He made the announcement in a press statement issued by the forum’s Director General, CID Maduabum, on Friday.

“This is to inform the general public and Peoples Democratic Party stakeholders that the Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party Governors Forum (PDP-GF), Rt Hon. Contrary to media reports, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal has not resigned as Chairman of the Forum.

“Members of the PDP Governors Forum are working behind the scenes to resolve all party-related disputes.” A Forum meeting will be held soon to that end.”

Meanwhile, Senator Olaka Nwogu of the Peoples Democratic Party has claimed that Senator Walid Jibrin was forced out of his position as BoT chairman of the party against his will in order to keep Iyorcha Ayu (PDP chairman) in office.
