Terror-bandits in the early hours of Wednesday invaded several communities in Kotongura, Mariga and Rijau Local Government Area (LGA) of Niger State, abducting an unspecified number of people.

POLITICS NIGERIA reports that the armed bandits, numbering over 200 raided several communities in Niger State.

It was learnt that the terrorists stormed the communities in a convoy of about 100 motorcycles and killed children at Bangi, a community in Mariga local government.

They were said to have razed several houses and looted provision stalls they vandalised.

Information also has it that the bandits rustled no fewer than 250 cattle from their raided villages on their routes.

Bandits’ attacks in Niger state is becoming increasingly disturbing. Recently, the terrorists killed forty-four people and abducted thirty-one adults and an unspecified number of children in Shiroro and Munya local government areas of Niger state. The attacks were carried out in Galadinma Kolgo, Erena, Chukuba, Allawa, Guni, Zagzaga, and Dazza, communities in the early hours of last Saturday, when they set houses and farmlands on fire.

Seeking comments on the latest terrorists’ attack on Kotongura, Mariga, and Rijau, the Police Public Relations Officer, Niger Command, Wasiu Abiodun, was unavailable to pick up calls at the time of publishing this report.
