On Thursday evening, suspected bandits launched a coordinated attack on the Abaji Divisional Police Headquarters and a commercial bank in Abuja.

The incident occurred around 5:00 PM, involving approximately 15 armed assailants who targeted both the bank and the police facility simultaneously.

In the ensuing violence, a police officer and two suspects lost their lives.

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, confirmed the tragic events to DAILY POST on Friday.

She stated that the police, in collaboration with the military, engaged the gunmen in a fierce gunfight, resulting in the fatalities.

During the operation, security forces arrested three suspects, including the alleged leader of the gang, identified only as Usman.

Following the clash, angry mobs in the area set the body of one of the deceased suspects on fire.

The incident highlights ongoing security challenges in the region and the continued efforts of law enforcement to combat criminal activities.
