Sen. Bola Tinubu, APC Presidential Candidate has congratulated Otunba Bimbo Ashiru, former Commissioner for Commerce and Industry in Ogun, on his appointment as Chairman of the Board of Odua Group.

Tinubu in a statement by his media spokesperson, Mr Tunde Rahman on Saturday in Abuja, described Ashiru’s appointment as an excellent one.

Odua Group is a conglomerate owned by the governments of the six states of the South-west geopolitical zone.

He said: His appointment is another testament to the confidence of many, including the Board of Directors of the group, in his competence and capacity.

“He is an excellent pick for this important job.”

Reeling out some of his achievements, the former governor of Lagos said as a commissioner for commerce and industry in Ogun, Ashiru showed his worth.

According to him, He was a banker of high standing and fellow of Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN), who was helpful in raising the revenue profile of the state.

He, therefore,  urged the former commissioner to put up his best efforts so he could take Odua Group to a higher pedestal while wishing him God’s speed and guidance. (NAN)
