President Bola Tinubu is currently engaged in discussions with former Governors Nyesom Wike of Rivers State and Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
Both former governors have been nominated for ministerial positions. Wike successfully underwent Senate screening and confirmation, while the upper legislative chamber did not confirm El-Rufai due to an alleged security report.
Arriving separately at the State House, Wike entered around 1:40pm, and El-Rufai followed at 2pm, accessing the presidential wing of Aso Rock.
Sources within the Presidential Villa suggest that efforts are underway to secure prompt Senate confirmation for Malam El-Rufai.
