President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Speaker of the House of Representatives Rt. Hon. Tajuddeen Abbas, governors, senators, and prominent figures, attended the wedding fatiha of the children of the Deputy Senate President, Senator Barau I. Jibrin, at the National Mosque, Abuja.
The ceremony, which took place after the two raka’at Juma’at prayers, marked the union of Jibrin Barau I. Jibrin (Abba) and Maryam Nasir Ado Bayero, daughter of the Emir of Bichi, as well as Aisha Barau I. Jibrin and Engineer Abubakar, son of Dr. Abdulmunaf Yunusa Sarina, President of Azman Group of Companies.

President Tinubu was represented as Wakil and Waliy for Senator Barau’s two children through the Speaker of the House of Representatives. Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, APC National Chairman, served as Waliy for the Emir of Bichi’s daughter, while former Nasarawa State Governor, Senator Tanko Al-Makura, acted as Wakil for Abubakar. The wedding was conducted by the Imam of the National Mosque, Professor Ibrahim Maqari.
The event drew top politicians, business leaders, and traditional rulers from across the country. Among the governors present were the Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) and Governor of Kwara State, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, alongside Governors Peter Mbah (Enugu), Dauda Lawal (Zamfara), Dikko Umar Radda (Katsina), Ahmed Usman Ododo (Kogi), and Mai Mala Buni (Yobe).
Prominent senators in attendance included former Senate President Ahmad Lawan, Ali Ndume, Sani Musa, Ibrahim Mohammed Bomai, Aminu Iya Abbas, Buhari Abdulfatai, Mohammed Tahir Monguno, Ikira Aliyu Bilbis, and others. Members of the ECOWAS Parliament, including Fourth Deputy Speaker Billay G. Tunkara, also graced the occasion.
Presidential aides at the ceremony included the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume; Chief of Staff to the President and former Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila; National Security Adviser, Malam Nuhu Ribadu; and Special Assistants to the President, Alhaji Ibrahim Kabir Masari and Abdulaziz Abdulaziz.
