Nigerian troops have made significant progress in recent operations against terrorists, bandits, and criminals across the country. Among their accomplishments has been the arrest of a former soldier who was involved in gun running and supplying arms and logistics to Boko Haram terrorists.
According to Channels Television, the former soldier, who was previously assigned to the 5 Brigade in Damasak, was apprehended in Bauchi State. During various operations, troops neutralised 59 terrorists, apprehended 137 suspects (including 88 criminals, ten kidnappers, 20 gunmen, and 19 suspected oil thieves), and successfully rescued 88 kidnapped hostages.
The troops conducted operations against illegal refinery sites and oil theft perpetrators in the Niger Delta region, destroying 69 illegal refinery sites and recovering stolen crude oil and illegal refined products.
The Director of Defence Media Operations, Major General Edward Buba, provided these updates, highlighting the efforts of troops across the country.
Operation Hadin Kai in the North East resulted in the neutralisation of terrorists, arrests, and the rescue of hostages. Operation Whirl Stroke in North Central resulted in arrests and the recovery of arms, ammunition, and other items.
