Two Kano companies fined N500, 000, 66 others N1.26m for violating monthly sanitation

The Kano state government has sealed two companies and fined them the sum of five hundred thousand Naira each for operating during monthly environmental sanitation exercise.

The state Commissioner for Environment, Dr. Kabiru Ibrahim Getso disclosed this during Saturday’s end-of-the-month exercise held in Kano.
He said the two companies JK company and JP tank was sealed pending they abide by the sanitation orders.

The commissioner also said on a daily basis a heave of refuses were generated and collected in Kano state a situation that prompted the state government is partnering with private companies with the aimed that the refuse will be converted for use.

During Saturday’s exercise, 66 defaulters have been arrested and fined the sum of 1.26 million naira.

Lastly, the State Commissioner for Environment Dr. Kabiru Ibrahim Getso appealed to Kano Populace to use the period set aside by the exercise in ensuring effective cleanliness of the state as part of an effort to cartel the spread of communicable diseases.
