Former world heavyweight champion Tyson Fury has officially announced his retirement from boxing, just weeks after his second loss to Oleksandr Usyk.
The 36-year-old shared the news via a brief video posted on his Instagram account.

“Thanks to everyone who helped out along the way! Happy new year. Jesus is king now and forever,” Fury wrote in the video caption.
Reflecting on his boxing journey, Fury added, “Thanks; it’s been a blast, I enjoyed every minute of it.”
Fury, who had previously announced his retirement multiple times, first claimed he was done after defeating Dillian Whyte in April 2022 but made a return later that year. His last fight, however, ended in a unanimous decision loss to Usyk in December 2024, effectively ruling out the anticipated fight against Anthony Joshua.
When asked if fans would see him back in the ring after his defeat to Usyk, Fury responded, “You might do, you might not do. Who knows?”
Fury retires with a record of 34 wins, two defeats, and one draw, having enjoyed two stints as the heavyweight champion.
