This deportation follows a recent report in which 103 Nigerians were expelled from the Republic of Turkey. Those individuals were also received by NEMA and other federal agencies upon their return to Nigeria.
The 400 deportees from the UAE arrived at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport on Friday at 7:00 p.m., via the pilgrims’ wing of the airport. Federal government officials, led by NEMA personnel, were on hand to facilitate their arrival and ensure their welfare.
In a related event on November 13, 2023, 264 Nigerians had their visas canceled upon arrival at the King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
The Federal Government has urged calm in response to the recent wave of deportations.
