The lawmaker representing Kaduna North Central at the National Assembly, Senator Uba Sani, has declared interest in the state governorship seat.

The senator made the declaration at the state All Progressive Congress (APC) on Tuesday.

The Senator explained that he was at the party secretariat to seek for their support and cooperation.

“I came to inform you of my intention to contest for the governorship seat under the APC. I also need your support to achieve this aim,” he said.

The senator also commended Governor Nasir El-Rufai for moving the state forward.

Asked to unveil his anointed candidate for the Kaduna government house come 2023, when he featured on Channels Television’s Politics Today, El-Rufai had said his preference is in his core team.

“My preference is in our core team; that is the first 11. I said core team because these are the guys that worked with me since 2014 to organise our party, our campaign and we won and got elected,” El-Rufai said.

Sani is in the “first 11”, having served as Political Adviser to El-rufai from 2015 to 2019, before he resigned to contest the senate seat. (DailyTrust)
