Godspower Ekuobase, a Professor at the University of Benin,  has joined the race for the presidency on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The Professor of Services Computing charged Nigerians to be wary of moneybag aspirants, who have nothing to offer Nigerians but to buy their way through to corner the state resources.

Speaking with journalists in Benin, Edo State, he lamented that Nigerians placed emphasis on politicians with deep pockets but has nothing to offer the country.

“Nigeria is not for sale; what we want is not the people that have money but people that have the intellect, brain and the love for the country. When you say you are looking for a person that has money, he will want to get his money back. We are not selling Nigeria,” he said.

He said the country is where it is because we have been chosen leaders based on those that have money instead of knowledge.

Ekuobase said the nation has failed to measure up with other countries of the world based on poor successive leaderships.

“I want to contest for the presidency because I have the strength, age and support of the elderly and the young ones.”

“That is why I am going to ensure that Nigeria reckons with the league of nations. We are too backward, and we need to step up our game, knowledge must come in. We need people that can think” he said.

He said if elected he would focus on agriculture, security, job creation, education, health, technology among others to make Nigeria a producing nation and not import-dependent. (DailyTrust)
