The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has announced that the Computer-Based West African Senior School Certificate Examination for Private Candidates (Second Series) will take place from Friday, October 25 to Friday, December 20, 2024.

In a statement on Tuesday, WAEC revealed that this yearโ€™s exam will adopt a hybrid mode of delivery. “The examination will adopt the hybrid mode of delivering the examination, which implies that the objective or multiple-choice questions would be rendered on-screen and candidates would be required to give their responses on the screen,” WAEC stated.

It added that while essay and practical questions will also be displayed on-screen, candidates would respond using traditional answer booklets.

Additionally, WAEC has provided a Paper and Pen option for candidates who prefer to take the entire examination in this format.

The council also announced an extension of the registration period until Tuesday, October 29, 2024, and noted the availability of the “Walk-in-Candidate” option. This option allows candidates to register 24 hours before their selected exam paper. WAEC further disclosed that the final examination timetable is available for download on the WAEC Nigeria website.

The Council encouraged all candidates to utilize the various learning resources available. โ€œAll intending, as well as registered, candidates are advised to take advantage of the numerous learning resources provided by the Council. These include signing up on the WAEC e-Study platform, purchasing WAEC Past Questions and Answers books, and joining the WAECKonnect platform for peer interaction,โ€ the statement added.

It concluded by wishing all candidates success in the examination, emphasizing its commitment to improving service delivery through technology.
