As part of its Pokémon Presents program, The Pokémon Company revealed a brand-new trailer for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.
The name of the entirely new area you’ll be visiting is revealed in the trailer: Paldea.
Additionally, the Legendary Pokémon provide a clear view of some of the traversal mechanics, and the new “Treasure Hunt” narrative aspect is hinted at.

This adds the mechanism known as “Terestal Phenomenon,” which essentially causes your Pokémon friends to turn shiny and crystalized. This appears to be the main hook of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.
Among other things, the trailer showcased a handful of new Pokemon that players will meet in the game, including Fidough, a fairy-type puppy Pokemon made of dough.
We also got a glimpse at a new regional variant of Wooper, as well as a new ice-type whale Pokemon named Cetitan.
The clip gave us a better look at the game’s setting, which is known as the Paldea region, in addition to the new Pokemon. This is the first wholly open-world setting in the history of the series. While riding on Koraidon or Miraidon, the legendary Pokemon that grace Scarlet and Violet’s covers, players will be able to freely explore Paldea.
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet launch for Nintendo Switch on Nov. 18, with a special bonus for early adopters. Everyone who purchases a copy before Feb. 28, 2023 will be able to receive a special flying Tera type Pikachu.
