Honourable Dr. Farouk Kurawa who is the serving Principal Private Secretary to the Executive Governor of Kano State, Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf, was born in Kurawa quarters (Kurawa Masallacin Juma’a) and attended Gidan Sarki Primary school and Gidan Makama, and School for Arabic Studies (S.A.S) for his secondary education.
Dr. Kurawa then moved to the famous School of Management Studies Kano, where he studied for a Diploma in Business Administration, which gave him the opportunity to work with Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN).
Kurawa had his first Degree in Business Administration, and MSc in the same discipline.
Dr. Farouk after building a good block in education, he worked in the Banking sector and USAID for 17 years.
As somebody who spent years working in a non-governmental organization, he also build-up by having his PhD in Business Administration (Agri-Business).
Dr. Farouk Kurawa had the passion for politics considering the developmental projects executed by the NNPP Presidential candidate, then as Kano State Governor from 2011 – 2015.
As everybody knows, Kurawa is a success story because he torches so many other lives positively.
Like the goldfish that has no hiding place, Farouk Kurawa has been identified, recognized by many politicians in Kano, especially those in the Kwankwasiyya ideology.
This is as a result of empowering youth across the 44 Local Governments of the State, with vocational skills in Agricultural related fields among others.
He has moulded himself into a passionate believer in the organic links between generations, by his legacy of benefiting those in need, which it is not an exaggeration to say that youth see him as a mentor and guardian due to the qualities he exhibited even before he stepped into politics.
He has grown to become a leader with an extensive political career having contested in many elective positions after honouring the offer from his constituents that includes House of Representatives KMC 2015, 2019 and 2023.
To God be the Glory, everybody in and outside who knows Dr. Farouk Kurawa, can simply say that he deserves the seat of Principal Private Secretary (PPS) to the Executive Governor of Kano State. This is because of the track records of developing humanity, sacrifice and dedication in general.
Kurawa in an interview with Newsmen shortly after his appointment as the PPS, advised youth in the political circle to continue with their dedication and sacrifice toward the success of the journey, as it is part of effort that brings NNPP into power in Kano.
“As you know even if nobody sees you, God will compensate you when your time comes as he’s recording every move we’re making in our life”.
It is clear that Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf will succeed in his campaign promises to the people of Kano State, after picking people like Kurawa to serve in the strategic seat of his administration.
Kurawa is among the few Kwankwasiyya stalwarts whose loyalty with Senator Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso is known for decades, and his contribution cannot be forgotten in Kano and Nigeria at large.
